Standing for a cause

To raise awareness about the fight to eradicate polio and to mark World Polio Day, Rotary District 3234 organised a public image campaign on 24 October 2025 at all Metro Rail stations in Chennai. Rotaractors participated in this initiative, with the Rotaractors of AC Technology, Anna University, Guindy, led by their President Rtr. Padmaraj, alongside our Club President Rtn. R Rajanbabu. They carried placards with messages about World Polio Day and distributed awareness pamphlets to Metro Rail commuters at Koyembedu Metro Station.

India is already declared 'polio-free' in the year 2014 and there has been no reported poliovirus infection cases since 2011. Being a large country, the awareness and polio immunisation campaigns continue till date to prevent the virus from being reintroduced. We Rotarians and Rotaractors take pride and bold stands to keep our country safe and disease-free.
