This week was a whirlwind of project completions for our Club as we wrapped up the Spoken English classes at seven different schools: Mary Clubwala Jadhav School, PJ Gupta School, Sacred Heart School, Kaveri School, Arumbakkam Govt School, Dr. K K Nirmala School, and Saidapet Govt Girls School in Chennai. RYLA, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards is an interesting concept from Rotary that aims to impart leadership skills among youth through motivational sessions and talks by leaders in society. It turned out to be massive hit among the students and they expressed enthusiasm attending the award

On January 24, 2026, the District half-yearly awards were held at Anna Alumni. Our Club received four awards: first place in Public Image, Vocational Service, and Rotaract, and second place in International Service. Our Avenue Directors Bala, Jenson, Parasu, and Balaji did exceptional work deserving these awards. உயிர் காப்போம் (Save Lives) is our community health project, and a noble start to the year 2026 with donation of ICU ventilators to Government Children Hospital in Egmore, Chennai. At the meeting held on 23rd December, Rtn R Srikanth, fondly called 'Ford Srikanth for his long career with Ford Motors India', a veteran member of RCMS since 2003, was elected as the President for the RY 2026-27 along with other Directors, who were all elected unanimously. A Chartered Accountant by professsion, he served as the Director of Global Business Operations and Transition Manager at FORD Motor Pvt. Ltd. We wish Srikanth all the very best.

On 6 December 2025, our Club's signature elocution contest titled 'Talk of the Town' took place at Asan Memorial Sr. Secondary School, located on Anderson Road, Egmore, Chennai. Our Club's flagship event, 'Talk of the Town, Elocution Contest / ஊர் அறிய பேசு, பேச்சுப் போட்டி' for School students of class 8 & above is set to return for the season 2 on 29 November 2025 at Asan Memorial Sr. Secondary School, Egmore, Chennai. The first season in the year 2024 saw more than 100 students from 10 different schools in Chennai competed for the coveted trophy. On 14 November 2025, our President Elect Srikanth and our President R Rajanbabu, together with officials from Ford, visited VHS, Chennai and engaged in a thorough discussion regarding the ‘பாதம் காப்போம் – Foot Clinic’ initiative.
